Keeping consistent with Look's family of road pedals, the Look Keo Classic 2 Pedal features much of the same trickled-down tech of its pricier siblings, but in a beginner-friendly package that won't break the bank. It retains Look's legendary reliability, with updated materials and a large platform to make clipless use extremely user friendly. Perhaps most noticeable is the pedal's new dimpled composite wear plate for sure-footed confidence and pedaling stability. Its large surface area makes the Classic 2 Pedals ideal for beginner-to-novice riders learning to clip in and out. The pedal's wide body is comprised of an extremely durable polyamide (i. e. nylon) composite material. Its axle diameter also increased to 12-millimeters for extra stiffness, with the stack height remaining 17. 5-millimeters, necessitating the use of a roller bearing and needle bearing on each steel spindle. Look subjects these durable steel spindles to a test of 2 million cycles at 100rpm, with a 90-kilogram load to ensure robust strength under extended use. Other key features include a 53-millimeter Q-Factor that increases to 55-millimeters with the extra 2-millimeter spacer that's included. Release tension is adjustable from 8 to 12 Nm, ensuring smooth entry and exit. Additionally, there's three float options, including fixed/zero-degrees (black cleats), 4. 5-degrees (grey cleats), and 9-degrees of float (white/red cleats).
