The latest version of Diamondback's Mission Pro XT Complete Mountain Bike is a capable, all-terrain machine, returning with many of the features that helped the 2015 model make a name as the enduro sled for budget-minded racers. The six inches of travel recommend the Mission for big jumps and high-speed descents, while the capable, nimble 27. 5-inch wheels navigate sketchy terrain with ease, making this a bike that will keep up wherever you take it. As in preceding models, Diamondback constructs the Mission's frame out of 6061-T6 aluminum, a treated version of the metal with an ideal blend of low weight and high strength that's prepared to withstand its share of rowdy rides. The geometry remains relaxed and stable, with a 66. 5-degree head tube and long wheelbase maintaining control around corners and across lines on technical descents. This year's version of Diamondback's Knuckle Box suspension platform uses a single-pivot design to provide firm pedaling through the travel arc, and the Pro model upgrades to FOX's Float X2 Factory shock to pair with the re-worked 36 Float fork. Diamondback includes Shimano's one-by, 11-speed XT drivetrain on the Mission to give you a wide range of gear ratios as you take on a wealth of terrain, and the XT label surfaces again on the hydraulic brakes for reliable, consistent stopping power when you need it. A RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper post allows for quick, on-the-fly saddle adjustments throughout your ride without having to take the time to stop trail-side. Diamondback rounds out the build kit with a set of lightweight Easton Heist rims and tubeless-ready Schwalbe Hans Dampf folding tires for reliable grip and less likelihood of flats out on the trails.
